The UPDEA is the Union of Producers, transporters and distributors of Electric power in Africa , a non-profit continental organisation that gathers African power generation, transmission and distribution utilities as well as foreign organisations involved in development of the African power sector. UPDEA was established in 1970 with its headquarters in Abidjan , Côte d'Ivoire .
